Voluntary Code of Conduct for the Adult Entertainment Industry
1. Purpose and Shared Responsibility
This Code establishes a voluntary framework to promote safety, consent, professionalism, and ethical conduct across the adult entertainment industry, including self-producing creators, independent collaborators, and established production entities.
All participants, regardless of scale or role share responsibility for upholding these standards.
Core principles:
* Informed, ongoing consent
* Health and wellbeing
* Respect and dignity
* Professional accountability
* Transparency in collaboration
2. Consent and Personal Autonomy
* All participation must be freely given, informed, and enthusiastic.
* Consent must be:
* Established before any content creation
* Ongoing and reversible at any time
* Every participant has the right to:
* Refuse or stop any activity without explanation or penalty
* Set and maintain personal limits
* Consent is invalid if obtained under pressure, coercion, deception, or impairment.
3. Communication and Boundaries
* Before creating content, all parties must clearly discuss and agree on:
* The nature of the content and specific acts
* Hard limits and soft limits
* Use of protection and safety measures
* Filming methods and expectations
* Where and how the content will be distributed
* Agreements should be documented where possible, even in informal collaborations.
* Any changes require explicit agreement from everyone involved.
4. Sexual Health and Risk Awareness
* Participants are responsible for maintaining up-to-date sexual health awareness.
* Good practice includes:
* Regular testing at appropriate intervals
* Honest and transparent sharing of relevant health information
* Safer sex practices should be:
* Discussed openly before filming
* Respected without pressure or stigma
* No one should be pressured to take risks they are not comfortable with.
* Privacy around health information must always be respected.
5. Documentation and Content Rights (Model Releases)
* All participants should give clear, documented permission for content creation and distribution.
* This can include formal contracts or mutually agreed written confirmation.
* Agreements should cover:
* What is being filmed
* Where and how it will be used or sold
* Duration of usage rights
* Identity and age verification must be conducted in line with applicable laws.
* No content should be shared, sold, or redistributed beyond what was agreed.
6. Professional Conduct and Mutual Respect
* All participants must treat each other with respect, professionalism, and courtesy, regardless of platform size or experience level.
* Harassment, discrimination, manipulation, or boundary-pushing behaviour is not acceptable.
* Power imbalances (financial, social, or reputational) must not be exploited.
* Communication should remain clear, honest, and respectful at all times.
7. Fair Collaboration and Compensation
* Payment, trade, or revenue-sharing agreements must be:
* Clearly agreed in advance
* Honoured in full and on time
* For unpaid collaborations, expectations around:
* Content ownership
* Posting rights
* Promotion must be transparent and mutually agreed.
* No one should be misled about exposure, earnings, or benefits.
8. Safe Working Environment
* Whether working solo or with others, creators should ensure:
* A clean, safe, and controlled environment
* Adequate preparation and aftercare
* Physical safety throughout production
* Participants should feel able to pause or stop at any time.
* Basic wellbeing—rest, hydration, and comfort—should always be prioritized.
9. Substance Use and Capacity
* Participants must be fully capable of giving informed consent.
* Content should not be created where judgment is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
* No one should encourage or rely on substance abuse to facilitate participation.
10. Content Integrity and Distribution
* Content must only be:
* Published on platforms agreed upon by all participants
* Used in ways that reflect prior agreements
* Unauthorised sharing, piracy, or misuse of content is prohibited.
* Creators should be transparent about:
* Platforms used
* Monetisation methods
* Any third-party licensing
11. Privacy and Personal Boundaries
* Personal information must be handled with care and discretion.
* Respect for:
* Stage names
* Anonymity choices
* Off-camera boundaries

* No doxxing, outing, or sharing of private information without consent.
12. Inclusivity and Respect for Diversity
* The industry should be inclusive and respectful of all:

13. Accountability and Community Standards
* Participants should:
* Take responsibility for their actions
* Address concerns or disputes constructively
* Where possible, creators and producers should support:

* Peer accountability
* Retaliation against those who raise concerns is unacceptable.
14. Continuous Improvement and Education
* All participants are encouraged to:
* Stay informed about best practices in safety, consent, and legal compliance
* Learn from evolving industry standards
* This Code should be treated as a living framework, adaptable as the industry evolves.
